Where was I?

Right, where was I?

When out for lunch with my friend Tom at a local Thai restaurant today, I heard something totally “wrong”. I was going for my second bowl of coconut mushroom soup at the buffet (YUM!) when I heard a Thai instrumental version of some early 80’s progressive rock song. As if early 80’s progressive rock isn’t “wrong” enough in it’s own right, but to hear it with traditional Thai instruments? Totally weird.

Yesterday, my wife calls me from work:
Wife: “..she’s MY friend and she didn’t bring ME any pressies!”
Me: “???”
Wife: “Belinda. She brought you some pressies back from Ireland! She didn’t bring ME anything! ”
Me: “LOL”
Wife: “She came in (to work) straight from the airport and dropped it off!”
Me: “Oooh! What is it??”
Wife: “A large format glass bottle of HP original - we don’t get that here. And…a small format glass bottle of the fruity variety…”
Me: *inturrupting* “Frrrrruity!”
Wife: “…and a bottle of Hellmann’s Curry.”
Me: “Hellmann’s Curry??? I’ve never heard of that one before!”
Wife: “Are you going to try it?”
Me: “Are you kidding me?? Of course I’m going to try it!” I said, thinking Hellmann’s mayo?? *confused look*
Wife: *still disgusted* “She never brought ME anything….”
Me: “Awwwww. Lugging all that around must’ve been heavy too! lol”

That reminds me. I’ve yet to call Belinda and thank her for the luffly gifts. ‘ang-on.

*10 minutes later*

Ahh, there we have it - the 2 bottles o’ HP and Hellmann’s Curry sauce (yet to be tried) were purchased at Tescos in Ballymena, Ireland! Woo! Seriously though - that large bottle is quite heavy (esp when full). I don’t know why she didn’t just pick it up at the airport. ;-)

Of course my 5 year old son, who knows all about my brownsauce “endeavours” saw the new items on the kitchen table last night and got ever so excited. Before I knew it he had even requested to try some with his hotdog. Moments later, he had his first taste of HP (mild & fruity variety). And you know something? He liked it!

*collective awwwwwwww’s*
