At 100,000
This past weekend marked a significant milestone for us here at brownsauce.org where we surpassed 100,000 hits since launching in October 2005. Now while this doesn’t quite put us into the same leagues as say, myspace music sensation Lily Allen who, according to the CBC’s “Definately Not The Opera” is getting upwards of 100,000 hits a day! Still, we’re very well pleased with reaching this milestone!
*btw, though I’ve only heard the one Lily Allen track, I was very impressed – check her out! You rock as always too Sook-yin!
This is a good opportunity to thank all of you who have helped to contribute to the site, whether by means of pictures for the HP Sauce Gallery, by news submissions regarding the recent goings on at the HP Sauce factory, or by simply signing the petition, your contributions are what makes the site what it is, and I thank you for it.
Speaking of which, I have some new contributions which I’d like to pass along!
Our first submission comes in the form of a video from Helen Nurton.

This movie was made to use with classes of year 9 Geography students (ages 13-14 year olds) to highlight the issue of industries and jobs moving out of the UK to other countries. The aim was to enable pupils to understand some of the issues surrounding this disturbing trend and to help them recognise the impact, not only on the workers who lose their jobs, but on their families, communities and on associated businesses and industries. – Helen Nurton
Picture gallery contributors include: Nelson B, Kelly K, Karen K, Tom L, Pauline M, Mandy, Geoff C and yours truly.
The second is a submission of 3 images from Mandy to the HP Sauce Print Advertising gallery, one of which I’ve posted below. Please visit the gallery for additional vintage HP Sauce adverts.

Thanks to Helen & Mandy for their submissions! We are of course always looking for new submissions, in any form. If you have something you’d like to contribute, please write me! It doesn’t matter if it is a story, photograph, or an old crate with H.P Sauce stamped on the side of it! We’re looking for all sorts! (not the candy…though they are a favourite of mine as well)
