Can you imagine? How much I love you?

Friday, October 27th, 2006

Shortly after this site was launched about a year ago, I received a few emails asking if I had the famous HP Sauce commercial which featured a cow singing “Can you imagine? How much I love you? Moo Moo Moo Moo…”. At the time I had never heard of this popular commercial. The only HP Sauce commercial I could ever recall was a similar one being broadcast at the time here in Canada “HP Makes Beef Sing“. This new commercial which is itself a new classic, surely triggered peoples’ memory of the original.

I searched everywhere for the original “singing cow” commercial but always came up short; that is until a couple of months ago. I quietly placed the advert into the “HP Sauce Videos” section where it has been waiting for a proper feature ever since. I think now is the perfect time to bring it front and centre as I’ve also found a matching video on youtube! Read on…

HP Sauce Commercial - HP Makes Beef Sing

I especially love how the cow reverts back to “Moo Moo Moo Moo” as the cowboy runs by! People have a great affinity for this commercial! It’s a classic! It’s something to sing at your wedding reception!!

How very endearing! :-)

If you have a similar wedding video or any other type of video or picture featuring HP Sauce that you’d like to share with others, please write me and I’d be more than happy to feature it on the site.

First Anniversary With Elegant HP Veal in a Tangy Sauce

Sunday, October 15th, 2006

First off, my appologies to those who may actually read my blog entries on a somewhat regular basis as I have been somewhat tardy with my postings lately. There are a few reasons for this, but the primary reason being that I’ve been busy working behind the scenes an updated theme for the site. This month marks the first anniversary of www.brownsauce.org and to celerbrate thought was to update the site with a cleaner look, perhaps even to approach something a little more professional looking. No worries though, our friend Adham will still be front & centre…ever peering over the table with that wonderful towel on his head!

This past month I’ve acquired a few more HP Sauce artifacts as well which I’ll post more about in the coming days/weeks. The first one I’d like to showcase however is this advert from a Canadian magazine which dates to the late 1980’s early 1990’s. I don’t know exactly which magazine it’s from however. We were over at my in-laws this last weekend for Thanksgiving when my mother-in-law presented it to me. Apparently the complete advert was on the back of a recipe she’d clipped out of a magazine some years ago and only just came across it again recently! Weird. Here I go about going out of my way to look for these ads, and here’s one staring us in the face.

In regards to my last post, I was rather hoping to illicit some feedback from like minded people who may also have an interest in seeing the history of the HP Sauce factory preserved by creating an online photo diary. Perhaps I came across as sounding too defeatest, I don’t know. It’s a shame that no one came forward to at least respond to my request. Perhaps it shows that interest is or has started to wane. Like I mentioned earlier, I had written to my contact at HP Foods with this request, but so far there’s been only silence on the subject. Perhaps those within the factory walls want simply to move on as well….

If you have something to say, or if you’d like to contribute to www.brownsauce.org in any way, please write me.

At this angle, I can hide from my reflection.
