Missing: Daddies Brown Sauce
I’ve decided to issue a respons to the increasing number of people who are leaving feedback, requesting information on where to buy Daddies Brown Sauce. Daddies, as you may or may not know, was acquired along side HP Sauce by the H.J. Heinz Company when it purchased HP Foods from parent company Danone in 2006. Since then, supply of Daddies Brown Sauce has all but dried up on British supermarket shelves, prompting people to scour the smaller shops in hopes of finding some older stock with increasingly frustrating results.
So what is going on with Daddies Brown Sauce? In all honesty, I wish I knew. As this site is not in any way affiliated with Heinz, I’m afraid I have no direct line to those in charge of making such decisions. I have however issued an inquiry on the status of Daddies Brown Sauce to H.J. Heinz (United Kingdom) through their website and I would encourage all who are having difficulty finding Daddies Brown Sauce to do the same. Perhaps if enough people show interest, they may decide to answer or at least confirm if Daddies Brown Sauce is discontinued or not.

Update October 14th, 2007: Lucky Day! Diana M has written in to notify us that after an extensive search of various supermarkets she has finally found stock of Daddies Brown Sauce (and plenty of it!) at Morrisons. Is this perhaps some new stock or is Diana simply the lone Daddies aficionado in her area? Only time will tell.. Thanks Diana for following up with us!

Daddies Brown Sauce is now readily available in the UK in Sainsbury’s, at least my two nearest ones in the West Country. I can’t see any Daddies Fruity Sauce, though; looks like it’s disappeared

I’ve found load of old (pre wars) Daddies sauce bottles in my garden, can anyone provide a link/information as to how the designs changed over the years so that I might date them?

I have 16 bottles of Daddies brown sauce, Kingswood Asda in Hull had a stock of them a while back, my uncle was getting frustrated that he couldnt buy this brown sauce anywhere, he has taken what he wanted and i still have a lot left. does anyone want it? email A.Wyatt@2006.hull.ac.uk.

I buy our Daddies brown sauce in Tecumseh, Michigan at the British Pantry…or in Farmington at the Scottish bakery..
Unfortunately the ones from the British Pantry are very tiny… they hold C198g
(what ever that is…)
We like the H.P. Sauce also, but it also hard to find.. bb
