HP Deluxe Marinated Steak
This recipe comes to us from our Australian correspondent Karen K. The recipe was on a tag (included with bottles of HP Sauce) as part of an Australian promotional campaign entitled “sizzling summer recipes”.
HP Deluxe Marinated Steak
Ingredients

Beef steak 6 to 10oz. (200 – 300g)
- 2 Tbsp. (30 ml) HP Sauce
- 2 Tbsp. (30 ml) Soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp. (30 ml) Balsamic vinegar
- 1 Tbsp. (15 ml) Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup (50 ml) Olive oil
- 2 Shallots
- 2 Tbsp (30 ml) HP Sauce
- 2 Tbsp (30 ml) Butter
- 1/4 cup (50 ml) Red wine
- 1 – 2 tps (2 – 5 ml) Fresh thyme (optional)

Preparation:
- Whisk together marinade ingredients and pour over steak.
- Marinate for at least 30 minutes in fridge
- Preheat grill until hot
- Grill steak for about 3 to 5 minutes a side for medium rare.
- To make sauce, saute shallots in butter, add red wine and reduce by half, then add HP Sauce, juices from steak and fresh thyme.
- Place steak on plate, drizzle with sauce and serve.
