Tasty & Tender Steak Medallions

This recipe was sent to me by an online friend in Australia. The recipe was on a tag (included with bottles of HP Sauce) as part of a promotional campaign entitled “warming winter recipes”.

Ingredients

  • 400g Beef steak, sliced in thick medallions
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tbsp water
  • Some oil for pan-frying

    Seasonings & Onion

  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp HP Sauce
  • 1 tsp light soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup stock
  • Some oil for pan-frying

Preparation:

  • Marinate steak with baking soda and water for 15 minutes in a shallow dish or plastic bag in fridge
  • Heat pan with oil and pan-fry steaks. Drain and set aside.
  • Heat pan with oil, stir fry onion slices.
  • Add seasonings and bring to a boil.
  • Return steak to pan and heat through. Steak cooked to medium rare/pink centre is recommended.

Preparation: 5 mins
Cooking: 6-8 mins
Serves: 2
